About Mollie

Mollie doesn’t just manage marketing - she takes complete ownership of it, turning quiet brands into award-winning national talking points. Since joining CBS in July as Marketing Manager, Mollie has rapidly taken end-to-end ownership of the company’s entire marketing ecosystem. From social media strategy, paid advertising, and PR to SEO, website copywriting, email marketing, and high-impact events, she has unified the brand's voice and driven immediate momentum. What truly sets Mollie apart is her relentless drive and unconventional path. She bypassed the traditional university route, choosing instead to teach herself the entire marketing landscape from the ground up. By mastering design, video production, paid advertising, and analytics on the job, she built a powerhouse skill set fueled entirely by curiosity, data, and an obsession with getting results.

About CBS (& Independent Freelancing)

Most people never think about capital allowances until someone explains them, and that’s where CBS comes in. I’m Marketing Manager at CBS, a Stoke-on-Trent specialist founded in February 2025. We help commercial property owners across the UK identify tax relief that could be available on qualifying fixtures and fittings. What makes us different is how we look after people. We explain everything in plain English, with no jargon. Clients are guided from first consultation through to submission, and our client success team stays in touch long after the claim is done, so nobody feels left behind. Our motto is “Keeping Tax Simple”. I also run my own business, MF Marketing & Events, helping hospitality and local businesses stand out through branding, content, video and event promotion. Both businesses are built on the same belief: when people are treated clearly and kindly, they come back and they tell others.

About Mollie's team

I work with a small, friendly and supportive team who take real pride in what they do. Our directors, Lee, Tom and Matt, lead the business and keep everything running properly. Chloe, Rob and Jas look after our clients at every stage, from the claim itself to the support afterwards. What makes us strong is how closely we work together. Every claim and client is assessed individually, and each client always knows who to turn to, whether they’re at the start of a claim or coming back for the next one. Since launching in February 2025, we’ve supported 176 clients, and many come back to us for repeat claims and ongoing support. One told us we were “very helpful and knowledgeable” and that they’d recommend us to others with commercial property. It’s a dedicated, high-morale team, and I’m proud to be part of it.

The journey

It started in a pub. In 2017 I joined The Top Pub as part-time staff, and I worked my way up to Duty Manager, running weddings, parties and seasonal functions. It taught me how to look after people and stay calm when things got busy. From there, events became my world. I coordinated corporate events at Wychwood Park, then delivered festivals, markets, workshops, corporate hires and weddings at Middleport Pottery, running venue show-rounds that turned enquiries into bookings. Then, in 2024, everything changed. I had an illness in my blood, and it meant I needed to change my career from events to marketing. It wasn’t the path I had planned. I didn’t go to university, so I taught myself as I went: design, video, paid ads and email, one skill at a time. And it worked. I grew my freelance business, MF Marketing & Events, created content at The Quarter, and then led communications for three national tours at Circus Starr. There I championed accessibility through BSL performances and touch tours, and led the award entries that won the Accessible & Inclusive Tourism Award and the Local Service Scope Award. Now I’m Marketing Manager at CBS, my biggest remit yet. Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing, and I’m still learning every day.

Why your vote matters

Your vote would mean more than you might think. I haven’t taken the traditional route, so being recognised for work I’ve earned by doing it would mean a huge amount to me. It would mean just as much to my team at CBS, who care about doing things properly. A vote shows them that good work gets noticed. If you’ve ever had to find your own path, I hope my story speaks to you. Thank you for backing me and the people beside me.
