Gav Coulson

I have over twenty years of experience of teaching ICT/Computing and Maths to key stages 1 through to 5. I have led both pastoral and curriculum teams across three schools. My current passion is staff development and utilising my previous experience as both ITT and ECT mentors. I am currently developing a team of non-specialist Computing teachers to deliver our innovative bespoke curriculum. STEM extra-curricular opportunities have been a focus to enhance our succesful Computing provision. We offer three weekly activities to different groups and shared this good practice by presenting at the 2024 Computer Science in Schools Conference. At the 2025 conference I am presenting a workshop on using Lego in the curriculum to develop team work and oracy skills. In 2023 I achieved the Computing Mark and in 2024 the Ibelong award for STEM provision to minority groups. I have recently completed my NPQSL after previously completing the Leading from the Middle award.
