About this category
The Newsroom Team of the Year Award recognises a newsroom or news team in print, online, radio or television whose coverage this year served its audience best.
The judges look for teamwork under pressure, strong standards and coverage that made a difference to the community it reports on.
Eligibility
Open to newsrooms and news teams of any size, based in or serving the region. Self-nominations and nominations made by others are both welcome.

- Entries are judged on the quality of coverage
- Standards and accuracy
- Audience results and how the team works together
Qualitative criteria
- How the team works together
- Challenges faced and how they were met
- Each member's part in the result
